What exactly does Kurma mean ?

Kurma
is the name of one of the 10 avataras (incarnations) of Vishnu.
Kurma was the tortoise avatara. The story of Lord Tortoise is described
in India's classic Sanskrit text Kurma Purana, and also in
the Bhagavata Purana, also known as Srimad Bhagavatam.
My name is Kurma Dasa which means servant of Lord Kurma, or in other
words, servant of Vishnu, or Krishna. The name was given to me in
1971 at the time of my spiritual initiation by the Founder Acharya
of the Hare Krishna movement, Srila Prabhupada. For more on that
